I am writing this to help others with getting Sound Blaster Cinema 2 to work on Windows I have no way to know if this will work on your pc but it does work on mine. I have played around with multiple drivers and this is what I have found to work for me. I am sorry but I am not allowed to add links for some reason so I provided the “links” without the Http: so be sure to add that to the beginning to get it to work. Make a system back up of your pc and be sure to disable the automatic driver updates in windows 10 while using this guide.
Part 1: Find your Hardware ID 1. Go to device manager. Go to Sound, video and game controllers. Go to Realtek High Definition Audio and right click.
Select Properties. Go to the Details tab at the top. Under property look for Hardware IDs and go to the bottom value. The one without the rev after it. After clicking on the Hardware ID you can right click and select copy, open note pad and click paste. Then save this to your desktop to make it easier to find later.
Part 2: Find the compatible driver. Realtek uses. To find this file you will want to extract the driver from the zip folder it comes from and find the vista 32 bit machines or vista64 64 bit machines folder in the driver. Be sure you have no spaces or extra characters. You may have to do some searching to find older realtek audio drivers. I would recommend using Softpedia, at least there site is pretty safe. Sorry I am not allowed to post any direct links.
Before making any changes to your computer, always make a system back up. Uninstall the current Realtek audio driver that you have installed. Reboot pc 5 Make sure that you uninstall any version of Nahimic or Sound Blaster that you have currently installed. Reboot pc 7. Reboot the computer. Part 4: Install Sound Blaster Cinema 2 v 1.
If you want to use an older version of Sound Blaster Cinema 2 such as 1. These versions are found on the download page of the model of your laptop. These two versions have the EQ for built in Laptop speakers, the version 1. Extract the driver from the zip folder that it is contained in.
Find the setup exe, right click and choose properties. Under Compatibility, you will need to choose Run as an Administrator and Compatibility mode for windows 7, other wise the program will not open after it is installed.
If these steps are completed properly, you should have Sound Blaster Cinema 2 working in Windows You may need to do some searching for older Realtek drivers, this version is not on the MSI site. This driver works fine in Windows 10 and I have had no issues with it. This driver also will let you use the Realtek audio manager. This version is the latest version that can be used that will support Sound Blaster Cinema 2. Any driver newer than this version will make you use Nahimic , which sounds like poo in my opinion, and no longer allows you to use the Realtek audio manager.

How old is your computer? I have an old desktop with Soundblaster too and when I installed W10 () my audio was no longer working at all. I. I don’t know what to do. Even the System Restore cannot recover the application on a normal state.
